Role: Business Analyst

This position is responsible for working with/for project team members and managers to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. The position is responsible for maintaining the ability to understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements. The position also includes making solid recommendations and working on solutions that enable the project teams to achieve their goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform business process/data analysis
  • Gather and document business requirements
  • Prepare requirements documents such as functional design documents, workflows, use cases, test scripts, etc.
  • Provide support in developing and executing strategic and operational plans
  • Be familiar with software such as MS SQL Server, MS Visual Studio, and MS Office Suite.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers by managing client expectations through interactions with the client
  • Analyze and understand the current state processes to ensure that the context and implication of change are understood by the client and the project team
  • Assist in requirements gathering and system design
  • Work with the project manager and stakeholders to identify risks and solutions to resolve or mitigate risks
  • Assist in system development and unit testing
  • Assist in system testing and bulk testing
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing
  • Facilitate meetings with all stakeholders: client, subject matter experts (users), technical architect, test lead, vendors, other BAs, DBAs, network team, etc.
  • Help track the status of project documents, test results, post-implementation change requests, lessons learned, future enhancements
  • Prepare workflows, charts, reports, etc. as requested
  • Prepare documentation of agendas, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Prepare presentations and assist as requested
  • Work on multiple projects at a time in varying roles from requirements gathering through testing and UAT support
  • Interface with Help Desk to resolve tickets as required

General Responsibilities

  • Adapt to changing requirements in the project environment

  • Assist in analyzing situations, identifying problems and initiating solutions
  • Assist in identifying project inefficiencies based on industry standards
  • Assist in providing solutions for problems faced by the team
  • Assist team lead(s) in monitoring estimated-time-to-complete (ETC) against the actual for assigned tasks
  • Assist team members with tasks as needed/requested
  • Attend conferences as requested
  • Attend project status meetings as requested
  • Be responsible for individual work products
  • Complete and meet time estimates for assigned tasks
  • Deliver quality products and within timelines
  • Help minimize scope creep in the project budget, resources, time
  • Learn and apply new skills/concepts as and when required
  • Maintain current knowledge of the business area, including best practices and industry standards, legislation and policy, and technology, to the extent possible
  • Manage multiple tasks and respond to varied expectations
  • Obtain and maintain relevant certification as required
  • Participate in identifying and tracking issues, risks, and action items that could affect personal work, work of the team, and/or application items
  • Assist with other projects as needed/requested
  • Provide weekly status report as requested
  • Obtain and maintain relevant certification as required
  • Strive to maintain customer satisfaction

Tools Required but not limited to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Office Suite

 

Experience with Child Support Enforcement, especially CSE software experience, is highly preferred.
