Our Chief Operating Officer will be a core member of our team and will be responsible for spearheading organizational strategy and business development.  We are looking for someone with an eye on the future, who not only has vision, but has the skills and capacity to plan and successfully execute towards that vision.  Below are some of the high-level tasks we would want the ideal candidate to be able to come in and immediately start working on:

  • Strategy/Expansion:  As our software has the capability to improve casework in many different domains, we are looking to steer Good Grid’s future in a positive direction by means of expansion & strategic partnerships in appropriate domains.  Some relevant tasks may be to:
    • Create expansion strategies into other social service domains, such as homelessness & social determinants of health
    • Oversee marketing initiatives and assess/recommend improved processes/compliances/technological enhancements for positioning during expansion
  • Infrastructure:  As we are quickly expanding into several states, we want to focus on continuing to achieve great results in the states we have while building a strong enough infrastructure to be able to scale quickly.  Our ideal candidate is able to balance the responsibility we have to existing customers with scaling – all while driving the company’s operating capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction, retention, and company goals.  Some relevant tasks may be to:
  • Define organization, team collaboration, and reporting structure to better support operations in existing states.
  • Design the team structure, set clear expectations (establish KPIs at the individual, team, and organization level), define standards (what “good” is), coach appropriately, and remain accountable.
  • Financial: The ideal candidate has strong, strategic financial skills and would feel comfortable building the systems and tools that ensure the ability to track the current financial state of Good Grid as well as have the ability to model the financial plan for Good Grid’s future.  Some relevant tasks may be to:
    • Control company costs, and preparing timely and accurate financial performance reports.
  • Model a 5-year financial plan that demonstrates clear understanding of cash position / burn rates (if any).
  • Manage cash and create a budget, which includes performing headcount planning, negotiating contracts, and other tactical, financial elements.
