Technical Writer Job Duties

• Work with internal teams to understand application documentation requirements
• Create strong content that fulfills standards and audience goals
• Write straight-forward user tutorials and interface text
• Utilize a variety of media forms; include images and charts
• Analyze current content and make improvements as necessary
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with the internal and/or external customer(s)
• Remain up-to-date on technological and product developments as well as universal specifications relevant to his or her industry
• Work and assist in creating, editing, and reviewing comprehensive technical documents such as user guides, online help, in- app
documents and technical specifications
• Help, review and maintain technical documents to ensure its consistency and alignment with the latest version of the platform currently being utilized by Protech
• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarify, style, terminology, correct grammar, punctuation and spelling
• Review, edit or re-write material prepared by other writers
• Provide value based services and timely delivery of services
• Analyze RFE statement of Work/ Objectives or Performance Work Statements for alignment with customer preferred terminology
• Attend meetings with Technical staff and capture minutes of the meetings accurately in a manner that demonstrates a technical understanding of the topics
• Under the direction of the Technical Staff, create operating instructions, how-to-manual, and “frequently asked questions” pages to help technical support staff, consumers and other user with the NVkids project
• Assist in managing and communicating the flow of information among project workgroups during development and testing

Technical Writer Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in English, Communications, or Information Technology
• Ability to Explain Concepts clearly
• Excellent Planning and Organization skills
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Familiarity with the SDLC and general software development
• Excellent verbal and commination skills
• Candidate must have a clear understanding of how to translate and organize complex technical information into an array of readable formats

Experience

Technical Writing – 3 Years (Preferred)
