Protech to deploy Iowa SDU software

Little Rock, Arkansas – Iowa’s Department of Human Services’, Collections Services Center (CSC) will begin processing child support payments with greater efficiency in late 2008 utilizing Protech Solutions, Inc. software ProPay.

CSC processes nearly 244,000 child support payments per month most of which are reeived via mail or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The payment entry system currently in use was developed in the 1990s and requires multiple transfers of data to complete transactions.
The new ProPay software will be integrated with the existing CSC process, and will allow the State’s 37 staff to enter payments using a web-enabled solution that provides them an easy-to-use Window-like screen program. The solution will allow users to view an image of each payment and supporting documents online instead of using hard copies of documentation. The new technology will increase efficiency while reducing the risk of error. 

The contractor, Protech Solutions, Inc. is an information technology company specializing in state and local government systems. The company currently provides services to the child support agencies in Arkansas, Mississippi, and New Jersey. It was incorporated in Arkansas in 1995 and is headquartered in Little Rock.

The State issued its Request for Proposal in May 2007.  It began implementation in March 2008.
