President Bush signed into law The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, the 2006 Fiscal Year budget bill, on February 8, 2006. The new law makes major funding and program changes to the nationwide CSE program. It also creates a new federal grants program available for fatherhood and marriage initiatives.
